Here happiness for your taste buds cannot be found only in the fields of the « Chalosse » countryside ! The variety of the countryside offers gastronomic produce if you are fond of food.
No, ducks and geese don’t rule supreme over Landes cooking ! The culinary secrets are hiding as well at the bottom of the lakes, forests, rivers, ocean or sandy soils where has been growing one of the widest European forest.
Elver, trout or sea bream… wild boar, venison… asparagus, kiwis will convert your culinary stop into an unforgettable stay.

The departement of Les Landes, in Aquitaine, has plenty of exceptional gastronomic wealth. This departement has the most important number of agricultural produce recognized with a quality label : free-range duck of Les Landes, « Chalosse » beef, kiwis from the Adour riverside and free-range chicken of Saint Sever certificated « Label Rouge », Armagnac and « floc de Gascogne » are labelled AOC (official certification guaranteeing the quality of French produce) and asparagus grown in the sandy soils of Les Landes has the certification PGI (Protected Geographic Indication).

Landes cooking is famous thanks to all these local products and flavours. Among them, duck remains the « animal-king » : numerous people of Les Landes raise ducks or buy them every year to do home canning and all the cuts can be savoured : foie gras (cooked, semi-cooked or fresh), breast (fresh, but as well smoked or dried), legs, drumsticks and gizzards preserved in their own fat, potted meat… Either duck, chicken or beef, the most common way to present meat is with potatoes roasted in duck fat or with cepes mushrooms.
One of the most famous dishes in the departement is « l’Assiette de Pays » prepared only with local produce. Their making up varies according to the chef preparation.




If you have a sweet tooth, you will be tempted because our departement is the cradle of specialities such as « Pastis landais » and « Tourtière landaise » (plain, with apples or prunes).

Seignosse offers you a local market on Wednesday mornings all year at the market hall, the seasonal market takes place three times a week at Seignosse Océan on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays in July and August and on Sundays from April.
You will have the opportunity to discover the gourmet food of Les Landes and to meet local producers.

In numerous restaurants located in unusual places, you will discover this exceptional gourmet food. Give in to temptation, savour these dishes near the Etang Blanc, at the village, under the pine trees and near the fine sand beaches in Seignosse Océan or with views over Golf Course Blue Green in Seignosse !
However if you want to have a snack, you will find brasserie, takeaway pizza, snack, fast food :
