San Sebastián is a must-visit Spanish city situated 85 km from Seignosse.
How do you get there?
- By car: approximately 1 hour 15 minutes via the motorway.
New from 2025: new regulations have come into force in San Sebastián. All foreign vehicles travelling in the city centre must now register on the San Sebastián city website:San Sebastián city website
Paid car parks are available in the city centre. For free parking, car parks with nearby bus stops are available on the outskirts, from where you can then travel into the city centre: find more information here.
- By train: from Hendaye station, opposite the SNCF station on the left, you’ll find the Euskotren station (cross-border train), which connects Hendaye to San Sebastiánin half an hour.
We recommend spending the day there so you can explore most of the town.

Once you’ve arrived, head for the Bay of La Kontxa, where you’ll be treated to a magnificent view.
You can continue your visit by losing yourself in the old town, where you’ll discover a completely different architectural atmosphere.
It’s in the old town that you can go from bar to bar to sample the many tapas (or pintxos in Basque), from the most classic to the most refined.
Venture into the narrow streets that will lead you to Constitution Square.
After your meal, take a leisurely stroll along the harbour towards Mont Urgull. From its summit, you can admire the view over the city and the whole bay.
Throughout the day, you’ll find a variety of shops where you can do your shopping.
