The « SEIGNOSSE ATTITUDE »

In Seignosse, we protect what we love, that is to say our natural heritage: the ocean, the beaches, the forest. Seignosse’s inhabitants are generous and friendly, and they love to share what they consider being their most precious treasure, that everyone can enjoy : nature.

Whether you are a several days guest or just passing through our village, we invite you to adopt the positive actions and attitude to preserve our town and its inhabitants, to respect our hometown, to leave the tiniest impact possible from your visit, so that the beautiful and trustful harmony we have built between locals and tourists will never be spoiled.

So, within our « Seignosse Attitude », you will find some very simple and obvious thingsthat are good fo our city as much as for our planet !

I limit my waste production

By using as few plastic bags, packaging, plastic bottles etc… as possible. It’s truly understandable that, when you’re on holidays, you want to let go and don’t pay too much attention on it, but did you know that the volume of household waste is twice the usual size when holidays period takes place ? Overflowed bins, unsorted waste that won’t be recycled. All this has a very strong and perceived impact on environment.

I’m careful with water

It’s one of the, if not the most precious resource for us, and taking several showers a day when leaving the swimming pools and the ocean has a strong impact on the cubiic meter consumption, and therefore on the water treatment. During holidays, we stick to our daily good habits at home, taking care of water.

I move with sustainable mobility transports : bike, bus shuttle, walk

This is particularly appropriate as, in Seignosse, we take advantage of 25 kilometers (around 15.5 miles) of convenient cycling routes ! Did you know that 90% of our visitors arrive on holidays by car? So, once we’re here, we leave our cars in the car parks (they’re free of charge) and we rent bicycles or use the Yego shuttle bus network, 100% free of charge.

I don’t pollute with my cigarette butts

During our Summer eco-walks at Le Penon Beach, we have collected over 20.000 cigarette butts either on the main square, the beach entrances and right in the sand. It’s no more possible to undergo it ! So this silly habit of crushing cigarette butts with your foot anywhere must be over yet ! At the beach huts, lifeguard posts and our Tourism Office, we will be delighted to give you a little pocket ashtray, for sure 😉

I enjoy the forest while protecting it

In Seignosse, you can take advantage of our 40 kilometers (around 24.8 miles) of signposted walking tracks in order to recharge your batteries and get away from it all in the heart of nature, but don’t forget to let the forest grow slowly and stay on the marked paths. Bivouac or any other kind of temporary shelter is not permitted anywhere here to avoid any risk of fire, but feel free to go to our proper great area, where vans and camper-vans can be parked under the pine trees.

I spend happy and good times in the bars and restaurants, but when I go back to my accomodation, I respect the peace and the sleep of my neighbours.
