The beaches of Seignosse

The beaches at Seignosse are among the most beautiful in the Landes.

Looking north, you see the dune stretching off into the distance; looking south, the final peaks of the Pyrenees plunge into the ocean: simply MAGICAL!
From the most secluded to the most family-friendly, not to mention the world-famous surfing spots, you’re sure to find your favourite beach – and there’s always a quiet spot to lay out your towel! The beaches of Seignosse stretch along a 6km strip of fine sand.

All you need to know

on our beaches
An unspoilt coastline and a variety of atmospheres

To reach some of Seignosse’s beaches, you’ll need to climb a small dune: it’s well worth the effort – once you reach the top, the view ofthe endless ocean will immediately reward you!

Each beach in Seignosse has its own character and identity. You’ll soon find the one that suits you best: livelier, quieter, wilder, more central… One thing all the town’s beaches have in common is that they all offer a natural spectacle of striking beauty!

Here, there’s something for everyone. Surfers come to tackle the famous waves, families enjoy the supervised swimming areas, whilst walkers savour long strolls with their feet in the sand, lulled by the sound of the waves.

Facilities, comfort and safety – everything’s taken care of

For your convenience, there are beachside restaurants, surf schools andtoilet facilities on each of our beaches, as well as lifeguards keeping an eye on you whilst you have a splash about in the waves!
In fact, some of our beaches are lifeguard-supervised for a long period, from May to October, from the first sunny days right through to the Indian summer!

Our beaches also hold the ‘Qualité Tourisme’ label, a guarantee of safety, accessibility and a warm welcome for everyone.
The beaches at Les Estagnots and Le Penon have also been awarded the Blue Flag, a recognition of the measures taken to ensure water quality and protect the environment.

The beach, from sunrise to sunset

Here, we live and breathe the beach all year round!

As the day progresses, the light transforms the scenery. The first light of dawn reveals a peaceful beach, ideal for a moment of relaxation or a yoga session facing the ocean. At the end of the day, the sun sets ablaze the horizon, offering the spectacular sunsets for which Seignosse is renowned.

A bike ride or a surf session in the early morning, sunbathing in the afternoon, and aperitifs and tapas with friends in a beach hut – this is the eco-cool lifestyle you’ll share with us.

The Seignosse attitude

at the beach

Our beaches are smoke-free and zero-waste! Embrace the Seignosse spirit and leave no trace of your visit to the beach: no rubbish, no cigarette ends.

The beach is not a public park; it is a natural, living space that changes with the tides and storms. The dune, visible on all our beaches, is our bulwark against the ocean’s onslaught. It is essential that we preserve and look after it; to avoid trampling the vegetation, please only use the designated paths leading to the bathing areas.
