It can be viewed from several vantage points, all of which can be reached on foot, by car or by bike. It is not possible to walk all the way round it, and swimming is prohibited as it is a protected pond where duck hunting and fishing take place in season. Its milky colour, which turns white depending on the light, is due to its shallow depth and sandy bed. It is a sight to behold in every season with its changing colours, and its tranquillity is sure to soothe you. In the middle of the pond you can see the ‘tonnes’ – these are our very own stilt huts, belonging to hunters who stay in them during the hunting season. And to make the most of your visit to the lake, there are two establishments to welcome you: the Villa de l’Étang Blanc and Les Roseaux, both offering a gourmet break by the water’s edge.
