Festivities in Tyrosse, Bayonne and Dax

In July and August, you simply can’t miss our major Férias festivals in the South-West.

From Seignosse, you’ll certainly have the chance to pop along. Immerse yourself in Basque-Landes culture – and make sure you follow the dress code! (white and red, or blue and white, depending on the town) otherwise you’ll stand out and be seen as a ‘tourist’. Put on your scarf and wander the streets and bars – in moderation – to the sound of singing and bandas.

The festivities last several days: head out during the day to enjoy the many street performances and concerts, watch a bullfight at the bullring, or join in an impromptu conga line or ‘paquito’! In the evening, the atmosphere is more youthful, the crowds are thick, and the bandas give way to DJ sets and sound systems in the packed bars.

Two particularly moving moments not to be missed: the handing over of the keys at the opening and the grand fireworks display at the close.
