Seignosse Tote Bag 2 February 2023
I’m reducing the amount of waste I produce
By using as few plastic bags, packaging, plastic bottles, etc. as possible. It’s true that on holiday, we want to let our hair down a bit and don’t always pay attention to this, but did you know that the amount of household rubbish doubles during the holiday season? Overflowing bins, unsorted waste that won’t be recycled… all of this has a huge impact on our environment.
I’m mindful of my water usage
It’s a precious resource for us, and having several showers a day after coming out of swimming pools or the sea has a significant impact on the cubic metres consumed and then treated. On holiday, we stick to the good habits we’ve picked up at home and are careful with water.
I get around by bike, shuttle bus or on foot
And that’s just as well, because in Seignosse there are over 30 km of cycle paths! Did you know that 90 per cent of our visitors arrive on holiday by car? So, once you’re here, leave your car in the car park and hire a bike, or use the Yego bus network, which is free all year round and supplemented in summer by shuttle buses to the beaches.
I don’t litter with my cigarette ends
Our beaches are smoke-free, and you’ll find plenty of ashtrays in the town’s public areas. So, no more stubbing out your cigarette anywhere you like. And in the forest or by the roadside, it’s strictly forbidden to throw away your cigarette ends due to the risk of fire.
I enjoy the forest by protecting it
In Seignosse, you can enjoy 40 km of signposted trails to recharge your batteries in the heart of nature. To preserve this environment, let the forest grow naturally and stay on the signposted paths. Camping is not permitted to prevent the risk of fire, but we do have a dedicated area for vans and motorhomes under the pine trees.
I enjoy good times in bars and restaurants
But when I return to my accommodation, I respect my neighbours’ peace and quiet and ensure they can sleep, because when we’re on holiday, we all need a good night’s sleep and time to relax. Please also bear in mind the locals who are working whilst you’re on holiday: they, too, need some peace and quiet.
